Luke's 1st day of School

Luke had his first day of his second year of Preschool. He's been really excited about going to school like Daniel and the two of them have been excitedly talking all about school and friends and the fun things you do. When we went to drop off Daniel, Luke got his bucket and wanted to know where his class was. I explained he doesn't start Kindergarten until next year. This year he'll go to Daniel's class from last year, but he'll get a new teacher. I think he understood and he does get a different teacher so it seemed new and exciting.
Daniel wanted to take a picture with his brother. The two of them are such good buddies and can't wait to get home to hear about what the other did that day and play together. School has really brought them together.

Ellie though was missing her brothers and play friends. She seems lost without them and as soon as they got home she was so excited to play with them!

My littlest guy is off to school and there's no looking back. Have a fun year!

Back to School

I can't believe my oldest is off to school! Daniel's first day of Kindergarten was today. I started to tear up on the drive to school, but once we were in the thick of things it went by quickly. Daniel knew five other kids in his class which is unbelievable to me since the other class he could have been in, he wouldn't have known anyone.

One of them is a good buddy from preschool so Kindergarten is now a place to get together with his friends.

I pray now that he continues to make good friends, learns academically and comes to love school. I thought I might tear up after saying goodbye but before I had time to think about it, Luke started crying because he didn't get to say goodbye to Daniel. I only had time to reassure him so my tears were averted.

I can't think about it too long or sitting here without my "D" I'll start to tear up again, but this is the start of a journey and I'm looking forward to it!

More Celebration

This weekend was spent at a "lodge" in wine country celebrating our anninversary! Wow!!! I loved every minute of it! One of the things I thought would be fun to do was a tandem bike ride. What I didn't realize was how many profound thoughts can come from riding one of those. Have you ever thought about it? Riding in the back I had a lot of time to think about it and realized that you really have to work together to make things work. If you're trying to go against what the other person is doing, you could end up with some serious scrapes. Thankfully, Eric and I work really well together and loved getting out. Well, I could go on, but I'll leave it at that and just say that it was a blast! You should try it sometime!

Anniversary

It's been a wonderful eight years with a man I've grown to love more than I did the day I married him. We've shared amazing experiences and rearing three lovely children. In life's ups and downs, there's no one I'd rather be with than Eric. Love you!
