Pumpkin Patch

Luke went on his first field trip to a local pumpkin patch recently and it was so fun to see all the fun colors and do all the activities there even in extreme mud!!!!! In the parking lot I was literally skidding when I turned the wheel. It's been a while since I was four-wheeling so it was a fun time. Once there we had a train ride, wagon ride in the hay and we were able to pet some of the animals. Then we had some delicious Apple Cider with our snack of homemade banana bread. It's always fun to see things through children's eyes!

29 and Holding

I had a truly amazing surprise of one of my best friends coming out to visit. Eric surprises me completely and it wasn't until we're sitting at the airport (waiting for supposedly a family member) and MB had to knock on the car window before I realized what was happening. For my 29th and holding birthday we had a day planned in San Fran complete with all the touristy things to do just now Mary Beth was with us. I truly had a wonderful b-day and it was great to hang out again and just plain visit!

Life's Little Rewards

Imagine....I'm in my work clothes (grubby really) and my make-up is probably smudged. I still haven't gotten that hair cut I've been meaning to and by evening it could use another comb through. Basically I'm not at the top of my game at the end of the day and for sure not looking it. :-) But.....in chimes my two wonderful boys. "Mommy, you're beautiful," says Daniel. "I love you," says Luke. Neither comment do I feel I deserve, but it's offered with no strings attached simply because that's what they feel and think.

In the midst of a tough day or even just a mediocre one, one of my children comes along and offers their words of encouragement. It's in those moments I find my reward on earth.

This is probably what my Dad looked like with me. Just imagine twenty-plus ;-) years ago and some funky colors (that are coming back in style) on everyone in the picture. Now see how my girl can play softball!

Here's her underhanded fastball. This is so fun that although she loves, loves, loves being girly she also loves to play any kind of sport where you can throw or catch or kick a ball. You go girl!
